Morskie Dubki, Park (Lisy Nos)

Categories / City Topography/Green Areas/Parks

MORSKIE DUBKI is a park at the West end of the village Lisy Nos. It stretches in a strip near the shore of the Gulf of Finland. Its length is approximately 500 metres and its width ranges from 100 to 250 metres. The park was laid out in the 18th century as a landscape park. It is mainly formed by the plantations of a petiolate oak, hence the name. Large spreading oaks with short trunks alternate with pine-trees, birch trees and maples. Today the park is overgrown; the paths have not been cleared. The total area of the park has been reduced to six hectares as a result of unplanned construction. The park is used as a recreational area.
