KODATSKY (Kadatsky) Ivan Fedorovich (1893-1937), Soviet statesman and party worker. He graduated from the vocational school in Nikolaev, worked as a turner there, took part in workers' strikes. Since 1914, a member of Russian Social-Democratic Workers' Party, in the same year he settled in St. Petersburg, worked at the New Lessner Plant, where he carried on propaganda work among the workers of Vyborgsky District. Since 1915 a member of Vyborgsky District committee of Russian Social-Democratic Workers' Party. In January of 1917 he was arrested. After February Revolution of 1917 he was elected a member of Petrograd Soviet and Vyborgskaya District council. The delegate of the 7th (April) All-Russian conference and the 6th congress of Russian Social-Democratic Workers' Party (bolshevist). He took part in the preparation of the October armed uprising, fought at the front-lines of the Civil War. In 1926-27 an executive secretary of Moskovsko-Narvsky District committee of All-Union Communist Party (bolshevist) in Leningrad, in 1928-29 a vice-chairman and chairman of the Soviet of national economy of Leningrad Region, in 1930-31 a chairman of the executive committee of Leningrad regional Soviet of people's deputies and Leningrad Soviet, since 1932 a chairman of the executive committee of Leningrad Soviet of working people's deputies. Since 1925 a candidate member of the Central Committee of All-Union Communist Party (bolshevist), since 1930 a member of the Central Committee of All-Union Communist Party (bolshevist). In 1937 Kodatsky was moved to Moscow, and appointed the Head of the Main Department of light engineering of People's Commissariat of heavy equipment industry. He was subject to repression.
