STAROZHILOVKA, a river in the north of St. Petersburg, in the area of Shuvalovo and Pargolovo. The river draws its water from the southern slope of the Pargolovo Hills and flows into Lake Nizhnee Bolshoe Suzdalskoe, thus sustaining its permanent level. The river is seven kilometres long, with the river basin amounting to 33 km2. The upper reaches of the river are reclaimed and used for horticultural activities. The lower course of the river runs through the area of new residential and industrial construction in Pargolovo. The river crosses Vyborgskoe Freeway and Suzdalsky Avenue.
