KUZMINKA, a river in the south of St. Petersburg between the town of Pushkin and Petroslavyanka. It takes its rise from a swamped lake in Kandakopshino and flows (from the left) into the Slavyanka River upwards from the settlement of Petro-Slavyanka. With the length of approximately 25 kilometres, in the middle course reaches 50-70 meters in width. The lower river course is dammed up forming an approximately 4.5 kilometre long and up to 300 meters wide water reservoir. There are more shallow soil dams measuring up to 150 meters in length and up to 3 meters in height. The dammed waters are quite pure and used for water supply and agricultural purposes. The Kuzminka River runs across Alexandrovsky Park in Pushkin supplying the ponds and canals of Tsarskoe Selo Reserve-Museum. The river banks, around the territory by Pushkin also accommodate the settlement of Alexandrovskaya and Lensovetovsky state farm.
