EVDOKIMOV Sergey Ivanovich (1911, St. Peterburg - 1972, Leningrad), architect, architect emeritus of the Russian Soviet Federative Socialist Republic (1970). He graduated from the Leningrad College of Engineering and Urban Planning (1934). During pre-war years worked at the Lenproject Institute; he is one of the authors of the ensemble of Ivanovskaya Street (in collaboration with I.I. Fomin and E. A. Levinson). In 1945-72 he was in head of the workshop of the Lenproject Institute. Important buildings of 1960s-70s are: the yacht-club on Grebnoy Canal, the swimming pool in Litovskaya Street, Nekrasovsky and Nevsky markets, Children's Sport School on Maly Avenue of Vasilievsky Island, an exhibition town on the Harbour, experimental living quarters near the Smolenka River, the project (in collaboration with N.N. Baranov, V.I. Kovalev) of Pribaltiiskaya Hotel (1969-76), and also buildings of schools, metro stations etc.; restaurants in the Lower Park in Petrodvorets, in Primorsky Victory Park (has not survived) and in Zelenogorsk. The works of Evdokimov have become architectural classics of post-war Leningrad architecture. He lived at 15 Nalichnaya Street. He was buried at Serafimovskoe Cemetery.
