MOROZOV Alexey Petrovich (1907-1987, Leningrad), civil engineer, associate academy member of architecture (1956). Graduated from the Leningrad Institute of Civil Engineering (1934). From 1963, appointed head of the special design department of the Leningrad Regional Science, Research and Project Institute of typified and experimental design of residential and public buildings, developed the technology of the construction of long-span members, pioneered the application of reinforced concreted in construction engineering. In the 1960s, engaged in the construction of the Nekrasovsky, Moskovsky, and Nevsky Market premises, one of the chief designers of the Jubilee Sports Palace (1967), the Yacht club at Petrovskaya Spit (1964-80). A unique steel membrane with a 160-metre-bay of the Sport and Concert Complex Hall on Y. Gagarin Avenue (completed in 1980), designed under his guidance, is considered an engineering masterpiece of the 20th century. He is also the author of Pionerskaya, Devyatkino metro stations. Buried in Siverskaya Village Cemetery, in Leningrad Region.
