RUSSIAN SOCIETY OF PUBLIC HEALTH CARE, a public organisation founded in 1878 on the initiative of A.P. Dobroslavin, I.E. Andrievsky and N.F. Zdekauer with the purpose of rendering assistance in improving health and sanitary conditions in Russia. It was divided into five departments: the biology (scientific) department; the department of statistics and epidemiology; the department for the recovery of populated locations, public buildings and industrial institutions; the department of hygiene of education and upbringing; and the department of climatology and balneology. Sections of the society were formed in 27 cities. The society published research works, and from 1891 - The journal of the Russian society of Public Health Care (from 1914 known as Hygiene and Sanitary Dossier).
