THE ELIZAROVS' MUSEUM APARTMENT (52/24 Lenin Street), a branch of Smolny History Memorial Museum. It was opened in 1927 as V. I. Lenin’s memorial apartment museum known under its present name since 1990. At present the museum is located in the house on the former Shirokaya Street in the apartment where engineer and revolutionary M. T. Elizarov (1863-1919) lived in 1915-17 with his wife, Lenin's elder sister А. I. Ulyanova-Elizarova (1864-1935) and his mother-in-law М. А. Ulyanova (1835-1916). Also this is where Lenin and N. K. Krupskaya lived from 4(17) April to 5(18) July 1917 upon returning from emigration. From 1923 the street was named after Lenin and in 1924 a memorial plaque was placed on the building (the present-day plaque was installed in 1960). The museum shows the interiors of the living rooms, personal belongings of the Ulyanovs, as well as an exhibition entitled Mark Elizarov: Life of a Russian intellectual. The museum is a venue of annual scientific conferences.
