28 February. The mourning train with remains of Emperor Alexander I went through Tsarskoye Selo. On 12 March the funeral service was performed in the Church of the Catherine Palace in front of the coffine with the body of the Emperor.

The annual three-weeks long Alaksandrovskaya fair (it began on 30 August) began to held on the square at the Gostiny Dvor.

Post of the military commandant of Tsarskoye Selo was introduced. General I. Stessel was commandant from 1826 until 1846.
