June. Aleksandra Pavlovna Petrova was conferred the title "Honorary Citizen of Pushkin Town". A.P. Petrova was working in the health administration of Pushkin Town for more then 50 years, took part in the after-war formation of medical care of the town citizens since 1947; during 16 years Petrova was working as the head physician of the hospital No. 38, she was elected a deputy of the Pushkin District Soviet of ten convocations. Aleksandra Pavlovna Petrova was awarded the Order of the Labour Red Banner for flawless work.

Yury Aleksandrovich Semyenov, a native of Detskoye Selo, was conferred the title "Honorary Citizen of Pushkin Town". Captain Yu.A. Semyenov was a participant of the Pushkin Town defence and a partisan of the the Pushkin district detachment; during 14 years he was the Chairman of the district DOSAAF after his retiring, in the 1990s Semyenov was the Chairman of the District Council of Veterans.

The production of strong-frozen foodstuffs "Daria-prepared food" with capacity at 210 tonn per twenty four hours was began to work.

The Chapel of St. Prince Igor of Chernigov (built to the design of the architect Ye. Svetlova) was built in Moskovskaya Street on the place of execution of the town citizens during the years of the German occupation. It was built on the money of the Baltic Building Company (the director-general was I.A. Naivalt).



The housing estate "Malinovka", residential areas No. 8-11, located along Pavlovskoye Road was began to build. The housing estate was named in the memory of the former country house of Malinovsky.

The Tsarskoye Selo Town Carnival was included into the Association of European Carnival Cities. The Tsarskoye Selo Town Carnival was awarded the Banner of European Carnival Cities in 2000 at the 20th convention in Spain.
