SEMENOVSKY STORY 1820, an attempt by the lowest ranks of the Semenovsky Life Guard Regiment to lodge a complaint on 16-17 October 1820 in accordance with established procedure about their commanding officer Colonel F.E. Schwarz, who violated the human patience measure in the exactitude of his demands from combatant forces, causing undeserved humiliation and punishment. Though the soldiers did not resist arrest, the Semenovsky Story was regarded by military and government heads as a revolt, and all the lowest ranks, along with many officers, were exiled to different army regiments. The Semenovsky Regiment was created anew out of the best soldiers from the army.
