GIPERBOREY (Hyperborean) 1) Ezhemesyachnik Stikhov i Kritiki, Monthly journal of poetry and critical reviews, a journal of the acmeist poets, which appeared in 1912-13 (with a total of ten issues) and founded by N. S. Gumilev and S. M. Gorodetsky. In addition, the Giperborey published works by Anna Akhamotva, М. А. Zenkevich, М. А. Kuzmin, O. E. Mandelstamm, V. I. Narbut, V. K. Shileyko et al. The journal's publishing editor, poet and translator M. L. Lozinsky used to host editorial meetings in his flats at (2 Volkhovsky Lane and from the autumn of 1913 - at 26/28 Maly Avenue of Petrogradskaya Side). Issues 1 and 2 of the Giperborey for 1912 were reprinted in 1990. 2) A Publishing-house, set up in 1914, related to the journal Giperborey. The Hyperborean Publishing house came up with 12 books in total including Akhmatova's Rosary (1913-16; four editions) and White Flock (1917) poetry collections, as well as collections of Mandelstam, Gorodetsky, G. V. Ivanov, Lozinsky et al. In 1918 the company was closed down.
