The literary union arranged at the publishing house at the end of the 1940s - beginning of the 1950s by Е. I. Naumov played an important role in the postwar literary life of the city, it was here that V. V. Konetsky, A. M. Volodin, V. V. Golyavkin, G. A. Goryshin et al. were trained in the 1950s. The publication of the Big and Small series of the Poet's Library (established in 1933 on the initiative of M. Gorky at the Publishing House of Writers in Leningrad) marked by high level of scientific preparation of the texts became an important achievement of the Leningrad Department of the Soviet Writer. In 1992 the Leningrad Department of the Soviet Writer ceased operations and was succeeded by the publishing house Petersburg Writer. The series New Poet's Library is published by Petersburg Publishing House Academic Project.
