Artemyev Nikolay Mikhaylovich was awarded the rank of the Hero of the USSR and Order of Lenin and the medal “Gold Star” (No. 1594) in October of 1943 года for the heroic exploit in the battles during the crossing of the River Dnieper in 1943 near the village of Loyev in the Gomel region. N.М. Artemyev with the group of soldiers crossed to the right bank of the River Dnieper then he consolidated his position and covered the crossing of Soviet units with firing.
Participant of the Great Patriotic War.
From 1962 to 1990 he lived in the town of Pushkin.
He was awarded two Orders of the Patriotic War of 1st degree, the Order of the Red Banner and medals.
Lieutenant Colonel.
