RAUCHFUS Karl Andreevich (1835, St. Petersburg - 1915 Petrograd), pediatrician, health care organiser, court paediatrician (1876). He graduated from the Medical Surgical Academy (1857). Rauchfus was founder and head (1869-1909) of the Children’s Hospital of the Prince P.G. Oldenburg (now Rauchfus Children’s Hospital). He taught at Women’s Medical Courses (1876-82), created the Nannies' School at Tsarskoe Selo, the Society of Doctors in St. Petersburg, the All-Russian Guardianship for Motherhood and Infancy. Rauchfus was buried in Volkhovskoe Lutheran Cemetery.
