FENOMEN PETERBURGA (Petersburg Phenomenon), a collection of scientific publications of the International Conference organised by the Petersburg Phenomenon Scientific, Cultural and Educational Centre in association with St. Petersburg City Hall, the International Association of Russian Culture, The North-West Region Scientific Leaders Guild, All-Russian Pushkin Museum, and BLITZ Publishing House. Domestic and international experts (writers, journalists, literary theorists, linguists, philosophers, sociologists, cartographers, specialists on the history of architecture, painting, theatre, music, and environmentalists) contemplate on the various aspects of St. Petersburg's 300-year history studying the peculiarities of the city development and its perception. The activities are coordinated by the Standing Committee Petersburg Phenomenon chaired by М. N. Kuraev, with Y. N. Bespyatykh, S. V. Tsevtkov, K. А. Kormanovskaya as board members. Following four conferences which took place within the period from 1999 until 2002 three volumes of scientific publications were published (St. Petersburg, 2000-03).
