GAUSH Alexander Fedorovich (1873, St. Petersburg - 1947), artist, collector, patron of the arts. He graduated from the Academy of Arts (1899), and was a student of P.P. Chistyakov and А. А. Kiselev. He sided with Mir Iskusstva and from the spring of 1907 participated in the Commission for the Study and Description of Old Petersburg, and in October 1909, he became a member of the board and the first curator of the Museum of Old Petersburg. Together with Benois, he designed the Historic Exhibition of Architecture in the halls of the Academy of Arts (1911). He lived in his house on the 74 Angliiskaya Embankment and in 1924 moved to the Crimea.
