LENIN MUSEUM, operated in 1937-92 (until 1990 the museum was the Leningrad branch of the Central Lenin Museum in Moscow) in the Marble Palace, where by the early 1990s 34 halls showed over 10,000 various exhibits, including authentic personal belongings of Lenin and the Ulyanov family (with the total number of exhibits exceeding 100,000). The museum maintained 11 Lenin memorial museums in Leningrad and Leningrad Region. After its closure the materials were transferred over to Smolny History Memorial Museum. An armoured car, known as Rich Man’s Foe, on top of which Lenin delivered his speech on 3(16).4.1917 in front of Finlyandsky Train Terminal can now be seen in the Museum of Artillery, Engineer Troops and Signal Corps Military History.
