Categories / City Topography/Green Areas/Parks

OSINOVAYA ROSHCHA (Aspen Grove) is a park in the village of the same name. It is located two kilometres to the north-east of Levashovo Railway Station. Osinovaya Roshcha is an architectural landscape monument of the end of the 18th - beginning of the 19th century, consisting of a total area of 56 hectares. The park is located in a picturesque eskerine landscape where sand hills with the height reaching 15 metres alternate with waterlogged hollows and lakes. There are three big lakes and several small lakes in the park. The landscape park was laid out on basis of the forest mainly formed by fir, pine and birch trees. Oak, linden, larches, silver fir, common pine and cedar Siberian pine, among other species have been planted from the 1780s. Vast glades are spread throughout the park. The section of regular planning is located to the south of the former Palace of Princes Vyazemsky.
