SHAYKEVICH Efim Grigoryevich (c. 1857-1928), entrepreneur and Court Counsellor. Graduating from St. Petersburg University with a major in law, he served in the Senate. He was a member of the board of St. Petersburg International Bank from 1898 and then served as director of the bank. Shaykevich was a member of the board and chairman of the board at a number of enterprises in 1900-17 including the United Cable Works, Siemens and Halske Russian Electrotechnical Plants, the Public Electricity Company, and Electrical Lighting of 1886 Company. He managed the business at Elektroprivod Syndicate of Cable Works established in 1913, and at the United Cable Works, acting as a subcontractor. He lived at 30 Voskresenskaya Embankment (today, Robespierre Embankment) and 35 Nikolaevskaya Embankment (today, Lieutenant Schmidt Embankment). He emigrated to France after October 1917.
