HOLY TRINITY CHURCH, located at the corner of Sredny Avenue of Vasilievsky Island and Nalichnaya Street. Constructed in 1792, (architect Y. Perren) during the reconstruction of Galernaya Harbour. Inside, the wooden single-dome church was divided into three parts with Dorian columns, a belfry with a spire rose above the entrance. The Holy Trinity Church was under the jurisdiction of the Admiralty College until 1809, when it was transferred to the Eparchy. From 1829 it was under the care of the Protopresbyter of Military and Naval Clergy. A southern side-altar was constructed in 1888 and a northern side-altar was added in 1902. The Holy Trinity Church treasured several icons of the early 18th century. From 1880, the church oversaw a charitable society that supported a labour house, a hospice, a parochial school and an orphanage. In 1927, the church was closed down and demolished. The preserved stone Church of Our Lady the Merciful at 100 Bolshoy Avenue of Vasilievsky Island (1889-1900, civil engineers V. A. Kosyakov and D. K. Prussak) was registered to the Holy Trinity Church.
