IZOTOV Sergey Petrovich (1917-1983, Leningrad) was a designer of aviation engines, Doctor of Industrial Technology (1968), Hero of Socialist Labour (1969). He graduated from the Faculty of Power Machine Building of Polytechnic Institute (1941). He worked at the Leningrad Machine Building Design Office of Aviation Industry (from 1946, he was a deputy of the chief designer; in 1960, he was appointed director of Klimov Design Office). Izotov was in charge of designing several types of airplane and helicopter engines. He was awarded the Lenin Prize (1978), the Stalin Prize (1949) and the State Prize of the USSR (1971). Izotov was buried in Bogoslovskoe Cemetery.
