CITY EMERGENCY COMMISSION on the ascertainment and investigation of the fascist agressors and their confederates' crimes and the damage caused by them to organizations, national enteprises and establishments; it was founded by the decision of the Executive Committee of Leningrad Soviet dated May 6, 1943 chaired by A.A. Kuznetsov. The similar public commissions were established at Leningrad enterprises and institutions (their number totaling 6445). The staff of these commissions included eminent men of science and culture, party workers. City Emergency Commission has collected 130,000 reports on the damage done to Leningrad economy and on the acts of villainy committed by Hitlerites in Leningrad and Leningrad region. In accordance with the research results the Act of the work performed by City Emergency Commission was drawn up in May of 1945.
