SPASSKY GORODENSKY PRINCIPATE was one of the Orekhovsky District's principalities in Votic fifth on the territory of Novgorod. In the 15th -17th centuries, the complete right bank of the Neva (including the Lakhta Region and Nevsky Settlement) and a part of the left bank where at the centre of the principality; Spasskoe village was situated in the area of present-day Smolny Cathedral, and was part of its structure. On the north, the principality bordered the Vozdvizhensky Korboselsky and Ilyinsky Keltushsky principalities; on the South, it bordered the Nikolsky Izhersky principality.
