River Port

Categories / City Services/Transportation/Sea Transport

RIVER PORT (195 Obukhovskoy Oborony Avenue) was put in operation in 1970 (designed by architects I.N. Kuskov and V.V. Popov). The port was built on the site of the former Ozernaya Quay. The port was intended for passenger transportation. It belongs to the Northwest Shipping Lines. Cruisers can dock at the river port quays. The waterfront is capable of admitting ten big vessels while there is a need to accommodate 14-15 ships. The works on extension of quay walls are being carried out since the late 1990s. In the early 1960s the sea line river quay was built on the site of the old cargo quay at 28 Makarova Embankment as a part of the River Port infrastructure. River passenger ships serve Kronstadt and Petrodvorets destinations from there.
